Pupils with visual impairment often experience barriers in accessing the curriculum and realising their full potential.  In a bid to address this, it is essential that we improve our understanding of their curriculum and wellbeing needs.

This twilight course aims to bring a level of understanding through hands on experience of visual impairment to equip teachers and support staff with some of the knowledge, skills and confidence to drive up standards in this area.

The course will be led by Sally Paterson, Royal Blind Learning Hub Manager. Sally is a qualified visual impairment teacher and the Chair of SAVIE (Scottish Association for Visual Impairment Education)

This workshop will allow participants:

  • To explore the range of difficulties that children with visual impairment experience when accessing the mainstream curriculum.

  • To explore resources to support children in their learning

Please register as soon as possible and by Friday 20 January at the latest.
