Course timings:   10 a.m. - 3.30 p.m. including lunch. Coffee & registration from 9.30 a.m.
Cost:   £85 per delegate - or £150 for 2 delegates.
Summary:  

 The morning sessions will be led by Don Paterson and Dr Rob Maslen.

 Don is an award winning poet: 

“I would say that the poem exists in a space somewhere between the reader and the author, and in a sense belongs to neither, and both. - Don Paterson ” 

In addition to exploring his own poetry, Don will address the teaching of Scottish Literature more widely.  Further information about Don and his achievements can be found here. 

Rob is a senior lecturer and Shakespeare scholar based at the University of Glasgow.  He has a wealth of publications and research interests – further information can be found here. 

He will focus on Shakespearean Comedy. 

The afternoon will be led by colleagues from the Scottish Poetry Library.  This session will be led by Asif Khan (Director, Scottish Poetry Library), Georgi Gill (Learning Manager, SPL), Rachel McCrum (poet) and will cover: 

  • Poetry workshops for schools
  • National Poetry Day  
  • Poetry by Heart 

All English teachers are warmly invited to attend this annual conference which also provides an excellent opportunity for networking.
