As from August,  How good is our early learning and childcare? (HGIOELC) fully replaces Child at the Centre and will be used for Education Scotland inspection purposes.  Barbara Daly, HM Inspector will provide an insight into the publication and explore the new framework with participants.   In this context, Barbara will demonstrate how staff at all levels to begin to use the illustrations, key features and challenge questions to inform their improvement journey. 

Barbara’s input will be complemented by Lynda Keith and the majority of the day will be led by Lynda who will focus on Building the Ambition.  This workshop will allow participants: 

  • To explore the key messages within Building the Ambition and evaluate how these impact on current practice.
  • To take a closer look at the implications of wellbeing, communication and promoting curiosity, inquiry and creativity in creating the environment.
  • To identify how the document could help in promoting key messages about early learning to parents and carers 

There will also be opportunities for networking and sharing good practice.
