Course timings:   12.30 p.m. - 3 p.m. including lunch

Summary:

The Mini and Junior Duke scheme is an extra-curricular programme designed to equip children with a range of practical life-skills.  The scheme has been designed by Hutchesons’ Grammar. During a QUIPE visit last session, the scheme was highlighted:

Staff at the primary stages have designed an

innovative programme, the ‘Mini and Junior Duke’ for those in P2-P7. In this, children engage in very interesting challenges that develop a wide range of skills”.

Joan C. Esson   HM Inspector, June 2015

Hutchesons’ Grammar primary teacher Dawn Waugh has been instrumental in developing and leading this innovative programme.  In November, Dawn shared the scheme with the Junior Heads and has agreed to facilitate a combined information/train the trainer session for interested colleagues.  At this event Dawn will give an overview of the scheme and how it works in practice.  Colleagues will have the opportunity to work with the materials and will be issued with a pen-drive of files to enable schools to be organised for the start of the 17/18 session.

Please note that there is a nominal charge of £20  to cover administration, catering and pen drives.  It is hoped that this fee will allow schools to send more than one delegate if they wish.

**Please register as soon as possible and by Wednesday 14 December at the latest**    (This will give time for pen drives to be copied)
