Cancellation and refund policy

  • Cancellations must be advised by email 5 working days prior to the event.
  • A refund will not be granted if a registrant fails to attend or cancels within 5 working days prior to the event.
  • We welcome substitute delegates attending in your place at no additional cost.
  • Cancellations for residential courses must be advised 6 weeks prior to the event.

Event Description

All medial staff are are warmly invited to attend the SCIS Nurses' and Matrons' Conference.

The morning session will focus on: 
  • Public Health Scotland - update on the new Health Protection in Children and Young People settings, including Education guidance
  • Immunisation & Information Sharing (NHS Scotland)

In the afternoon we welcome Louise Howel, Head of Hieda, who will focus on: 

  • Safeguarding – role of the school nurse.
  • Confidentiality – issues faced for school nurses and guidance documents
  • First aid and mental health first aid courses
  • Update on NHS e mail for independent school nurses in Scotland
  • Medication management in schools – safe and best practice, National minimum standards, management of controlled drugs in schools
  • Managing international pupils health needs – working with families and overseas medical teams, information sharing and language barriers
