The Scottish Council of Independent Schools (SCIS) is an educational charity representing and promoting the interests of 70 independent schools across the country.
SCIS provides independent schools with advice and assistance on all aspects of educational policy and the advancement of education.
SCIS promotes choice, diversity and excellence in Scottish education as well as offering professional learning opportunities to staff from across the sector.

Aims
- to advance education through our contribution to curriculum development, the training of teachers and partnership work with the state sector
- to engage with the Scottish Parliament, the Scottish Government, and public and private bodies on behalf of the independent sector
- to advise member schools and their governing bodies on educational developments and legislation affecting independent schools
