Transparency

SCIS undertakes work for the schools in membership across a wide range of bodies and subject areas.  SCIS staff sit on a range of working groups, boards, advisory councils and national reviews on behalf of the sector; including engagement with key bodies such as:

• Education Scotland
• The Care Inspectorate 
• The General Teaching Council for Scotland
• The Scottish Qualifications Authority
• The Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator 

SCIS has always sought to be open and clear in the purposes of any engagement with the Scottish Government and Scottish Parliament, as well as elected members elsewhere.  Given expectations of trust in not-for-profit bodies and schools, SCIS is a member of The Association for Scottish Public Affairs – and conforms with the Lobbying (Scotland) Act 2016.
